Crash Test

EU – norm and crash-tests

Vehicles for patient care and -transport must be especially prepared for the dangers in traffic. The production requires a high degree of technical knowledge and related handicraft. For example, the sturdy construction of the stretcher mounting is decisive for internal security, nevertheless a sophisticated suspension system must provide high patient comfort.

C.MIESEN was pioneer establishing the European standard DIN EN 1789, particularly by placing highest requirements to safety standards and crash-test demands. Since introduction of the DIN EN 1789 the security of rescue vehicles must be confirmed thoroughly: all interior components of the patient's compartment - including the stretcher storage - are tested dynamically in 5 directions. A tensile testing with seats and belts is required.

C.MIESEN undertakes the respective basis vehicle substantial changes to fulfill the demands of the DIN EN 1789 and to ensure a maximum of safety.

Our rescue vehicles have been successfully crash-tested by the accredited TÜV Rheinland Group according to DIN EN 1789 and we consistently continue crash-testing our conversions in cooperation with the accredited French testing laboratory UTAC.
